Year 5/6 Football Tournament

On Wednesday our Year 5/6 footballers took part in a Truro schools football tournament held at Richard Lander. The team was made up of Year 6s, but also included Ras and Orlando from Years 3 and 4 respectively.

There were 17 teams involved altogether and Bosvigo found themselves in Group D along with Mithian, Devoran B and Treyew. The team played extremely well in all three games and won each game 1-0 thanks to goals from Ras, Marshall and Luke. Orlando made excellent saves in each game, but the team generally defended well and are beginning to pass the ball more purposefully to create many more goalscoring opportunitites – we just need to score a few more!

After winning our group we were through to the quarter finals where we played Kea School. Kea were familiar opponents for Bosvigo, as we had played one another in the league on Monday (losing 1-0 in the dark after beating Mount Hawke 1-0 in the first match of the afternoon). In a hard fought match chances were few and far between, but Kea scored twice in the last minute of the game to end our promising run of form.

Our final league match of the term takes place on 5th December when we face St Mary’s.
