Year 4 Camp – Day 2

We’ve had another great day and have just finished our camp fire activity. Today we were back to the Lizard to complete our rotation of coasteering, sea kayaking and woodland adventure. The weather was fab and even though tomorrow is our last day of camp, we’re really looking forward to surfing at Porthtowan.

Cross-country at Penair School

On Friday, 45 Bosvigo runners went to Penair School to take part in the cluster-wide cross-country competition. The children from Years 4, 5 and 6 competed brilliantly in soggy conditions and can all be proud of their efforts.

With the top 8 runners from each race qualifying for the next level of competition at Pool Academy, we were delighted to see 11 children make it through. Particular congratulations to Jasper and Cara for coming first in the Year 5 boys and girls races respectively, as well as Hannah (2nd), Xavier (3rd) and Arthur (4th) for their top 5 placings.

Year 5 Life Skills workshops

This week our Year 5 children attended a series of workshops led by local services including Devon and Cornwall Police, Great Western Railways and Cornwall Council. The children were really interested in learning how these services work to keep us safe and also how we can keep ourselves the right side of the law!

Continuous Cricket for Year 2

This afternoon 15 Year 2s has their first experience of competition with other schools when they took part in a continuous cricket festival at the Cornwall Cricket Centre in Truro. The children had a great time and picked up some new skills along the way.

Coose Trannack 2017 – a great woodland run for all primary-aged children

On Saturday March 18th Bosvigo will be entering a team of children into the annual Coose Trannack cross-country run near Helston. There are races for all ages from Foundation Stage (300m) to Year 6 (1800m) and even a 3600m fun run for enthusiastic adults at the end. We had lots of children involved in the run last year and one of the winners came from Bosvigo (well done Arthur!), so it would be fantastic to get lots of children involved again.

If your child is interested in entering this year’s Coose Trannack run, take a look at the attached letter or click on the link below.
