The fabulous world of FOBSA
Welcome one and all to the Friends of Bosvigo School Association page, or to make life a bit easier, FOBSA!!
Firstly, forget all of your preconceptions of stuffy PTA busybodies! We are a bunch of very friendly parents who like to get together (most of the time in The County Arms), to think of ideas on how we can raise a bit of extra cash to enhance your child's life at Bosvigo. You may have seen us in the playground selling cakes (we love cakes) or serving tea at school events (we love tea), and we are the driving force behind the schools two main annual events, the Summer and Winter fayres.
We rely totally on volunteers, people like you, to help us make all of this happen. Some like to give an hour on the day of the fayre, others like to donate something for the raffle. Whatever you can do, it all helps. Remember anyone can be a Friend of Bosvigo, Grandparents, Parents, teachers, ex-pupils or local residents. And you don’t need to be on the committee to do so, although we would be very happy to see you if you did!
If you think you can help, or would just like to come along and see what we do, or offer any suggestions, we usually meet on a fortnightly basis. We realise not everyone can come to regular meetings which is why we have created our Friends of Bosvigo School Association page on Facebook. Give us a like and you’ll get all the updates you need, including non-related FOBSA issues, such as inset days and non-uniform days. Here you can comment on events and put forward any suggestions. We are always open to fresh ideas! If you’re not keen on Facebook then keep an eye out for our new noticeboard at the top of the slope, this will be regularly updated with all the information you will need for the current term.
We appreciate every single offer of help we receive, we couldn’t be FOBSA without the support of the Bosvigo community. So please don’t be shy, we would love to see you!
