The club aims to provide a safe and secure and relaxed environment for the children in our care. We endeavour to provide an atmosphere and activities similar to those found within the home.
Wraparound Care is open from:
7.45am until 8.45am on weekdays during term time
3.15pm and 6.00pm weekdays during term time.
All day between 7.45am and 6.00pm during the school holidays (with the exception of Christmas).
We are based in Teylu Lowen, the Children’s Centre, located within the school grounds. The centre is used for snacks, crafts, construction, creative play, using the Wii, film watching and book reading .......
We use the school playgrounds and field for outside play and activities, we also have our own gardening area.
Our breakfast offer includes a choice of cereal, toast, eggs, baked beans and yogurt (Served from 7.45am - 8.30am). After school a snack and drink are provided; however this is not intended to substitute for a main evening meal that the child may receive at home.
We promote independence, by encouraging the children to clear away after themselves. We use fresh ingredients and follow statutory guidelines. Fresh drinking water is available at all times. Individual dietary requirements and parental preferences are met wherever possible.
We recognise the importance of healthy nutrition for children delivered in a calm, friendly setting. We also encourage children during the holiday sessions to remain at the table until everyone has finished their lunch and to enjoy this time as a calm yet social opportunity.
During the holiday sessions we will have a planned activities which include organised trips out.
Wraparound staff are all employed by the school, are familiar with the children and provide a smooth transition between school and Wraparound. All our staff have significant experience of working with children and are expected to undertake professional development and training.
If you have a query or concern please speak to any member of staff.
Wraparound operates under the same policies and procedures as the school itself, copies of which are held in school, and are available at your request.
